VC45 is a cat grooming hood in grey open-weave mesh with a clear front panel. The hood wraps the whole head, the clear panel keeps the cat’s field of view, and a drawstring with a cord lock closes the back of the head so the fit can be set to the individual cat. VC45 is a handling hood for cats. The hood slides over the head and encloses it, ears included, while a clear panel sits over the eyes so the cat keeps its field of view. A drawstring with a cord lock closes at the back of the head and sets the opening to the individual cat. The body is a grey open-weave mesh, so air moves through the fabric rather than building up under it.
The hood is used for the short, close handling that cats often resist: coat brushing, nail trimming, bathing, ear and eye cleaning, and transport into and out of a carrier. Two neck sizes are produced. Size S is listed for a neck circumference under 28 cm and a suggested cat weight of 1.5 to 4 kg. Size M is listed for a neck circumference under 33 cm and a suggested cat weight of 3 to 7.5 kg. The supplier sizes the hood on neck circumference, face length and weight together, and advises taking the larger size when a cat sits between the two. The drawstring then takes up the remaining slack at the back of the head.

The body is a single piece of open-weave mesh cut to wrap the whole head. The mesh is the reason the hood stays usable in warm weather: air passes through the open cells instead of collecting under the fabric. The front panel is a clear TPU sheet set into the mesh at eye level. It keeps the cat’s field of view open, which matters when the cat is being moved or held, and it keeps loose hair and water off the face.
The drawstring runs around the neck opening and closes with a plastic cord lock. It is the only adjustment on the product. Slack taken up at the back of the head keeps the hood in place during lifting and brushing without pulling across the face.

How long can it be worn?
Only for the duration of the task it is being used for, with the cat supervised throughout. Take it off as soon as the task is finished and never leave a cat wearing it unattended.
How is it packed?
